Last Stream Standing is a project that I worked on for Kinstone LLC. It was a 2-day livestreaming event fundraising for the American Cancer Society. It gathered streamers from all over the internet to participate in a series of games and challenges, similar to the reality TV show Survivor. The event was a huge success, raising over $30,000+ for the American Cancer Society and jumpstarting the brand of Last Stream Standing for future seasons.
My role in the production was to provide the technical infrastructure for the event. I built a custom webapp for managing the event, as well as a custom OBS overlay for displaying the event on stream. The webapp dashboard was managed within NodeCG, and the overlay was built using React. The webapp was used to manage the event, including assigning incentives, approving donations, and assigning teams. The overlay was used to display the event on stream, including the incentive progress, the streamers, and the donations.
Development began by leveraging the existing NodeCG infrastructure that was already in place for my charity overlay ecosystem, Starapps. Some base functionalities were expanded upon for the unique requirements of this event. A custom dashboard was built to manage the event, and the overlay was customized to present information from the 16 unique streamers that were participating.
Donations were processed through Kinstone LLC's existing donation platform, KDP (Kinstone Donation Platform), which I am also responsible for maintaining. Unique to this event, the donation platform was expanded upon to allow for donations to be assigned to specific streamers, and for incentives to be assigned to specific donation amounts.
